2445 San Pablo Ave. Berkeley. Just a few blocks from the old store, this new location has a deep inventory of vintage clothing & accessories (with an emphasis on 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s), home decor, and furnishings (including groovy luggage, bold costume jewelry and the perfect Ward Cleaver pajamas). It’s all pristine quality, hand selected, and available for rent or purchase. It’ll be hard not to shop for yourself!!

Attention photographers, Filmmakers & Theatre artists

Moving pictures sought for accompaniment with live music.

La Vache Enragée Productions is looking for silent short films (3-6 minutes in length)

that explore the December holiday season to include in our

Second Annual Shorts Show.

The films, if selected, will be screened with live musical accompaniment –

to form part of a production that blends theater,

live music and film.
Please note that they are looking for SILENT films. They want to
accompany your images with a custom-written score, created by a
composer in collaboration with you. This would replace any existing
soundtrack during their screenings. If your film is chosen, it will be
shown as part of the final event, and you will receive a small
stipend. You must own all rights to the content or have signed
releases from anyone involved – as the end goal is to publicly show
the work. You, of course, will retain all the rights to the work.
Please send your submission by August 23rd in either VHS or DVD

Visual Merchandising & display contest.

Lingerie merchandising for Target.

“The annual competition, now in its 12th year, is geared for college-level

students involved with retail planning, merchandising, and branding curriculums.

Target will be the first retailer to actually sponsor the competition, offering students  the opportunity to create real-world design solutions. Target executives have developed the design challenges in partnership with PAVE.

Target stores, a discount retail company, is preparing a new line of women’s intimate apparel to be introduced in 300 square foot outposts, or store within a store format, across the chain. Merchandise offerings will include bras, camisoles, and panties. Design a fixture grouping, to include three fixture types and a wall to be contained within a 300 square foot area. The plan footprint is to be rectangular or square. The height of the merchandise is not to exceed 6’ and the height of the signing is not to  exceed 9’.”

 

Anyone for summer jobs with the Digital Media Academy program, which takes place at Stanford University this summer? The program provides digital media courses to creative professionals, educators, and teens.
