"Making Music; Married to Media" a DOG & PONY Show

"Thank you so much for putting on a great show...what distinguished panelists. Such a huge amount of information and experience was shared with us ... each panelist was extremely generous with the audience about their past experiences ... there was more than one "breakthrough" as a result of your presentations. I thank you both as an educator and as a film/video maker." -Bonita Wahl, SWA Imaging

On February 27, 2008, the Propville Directory presented "Making Music; Married to Media" a DOG & PONY Showª at Bay Area Sound Studios (BASS) in San Rafael. Our group of esteemed panelists included Leslie Ann Jones of Skywalker Sound (Apocalypse Now, Zodiac, Requiem For a Dream), John Neff (David Lynch), Chris Forrest (Studio Guapo) & Stephen Hart (Werner Herzog, Michel Gondry). Our audience included local sound artists, editors, musicians and voice talent as well as teachers and students from Ex'pressions, Dominican, San Francisco Art Institute and City College. The discussion covered the different facets of sound design, from pre to post, through budgets, recording and mixing and grew lively as the audience began asking questions about their own productions and experiences. During the break, guests chatted with newfound comrades over wine and bites (provided by An Affair to Remember) and took a walking tour of the impressive facilities at BASS exhausting every question BASS director Lynette Daught had to answer. Journalist Roger Rose was there to cover the event for the launch of CineSource (website and magazine) in the Spring. All in all, it was a fantastic evening for everyone involved! Thank you to everyone who attended, we're looking forward to seeing you at the next DOG & PONY Show!
